CAT parts procurement channel with over 100 million CAD annual contract

We conceptualized, developed, and implemented a CAT parts procurement system tailored for our gold mining client in Cochrane, Ontario. This solution entailed a sophisticated three-way integration involving the client's ERP system, Caterpillar's PSIP platform, and Toromont Ontario's ERP system.

For scenarios not governed by Material Requirements Planning (MRP), plant personnel accessed the CAT online store to procure parts directly. These parts, housed in a CAT warehouse managed by Toromont, were selected by the worker and formed a shopping basket linked to SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) work orders via the OCI Round Trip protocol. Subsequently, these reserved parts were translated into Purchase Requisitions and then transformed into Purchase Orders. Following workflow approval, an outbound REST request was dispatched to the Caterpillar PSIP platform via Process Integration (PI).

At the close of each month, SOAP/WSDL interfaces were utilized to gather invoices from Toromont's ERP system. These invoices underwent Goods Receipt (GR) process creation, and corresponding PDF slips were stored as Generic Object Services (GOS) objects, associated with the relevant accounting documents.

This deployment has been operational in production for over a decade.

SAP SD sales order split via EDI integration with RBH tobacco products for a Canadian retail

We engineered an SAP SD Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integration with a tobacco supplier to enhance the pricing model for tobacco products.

In this integration, incoming EDI messages are transmitted to SAP as sales order items within the SD module. Specifically, all items related to tobacco are forwarded for further processing to the tobacco supplier (RBH) via outbound EDI, enabling them to apply discounted pricing. Subsequently, the modified order is imported back into SAP as a new inbound EDI message, effectively splitting the original SD sales order.

SAP BTP Document Management System (DMS) integration with SAP ByDesign

We worked directly with SAP ByDesign SPC core team in Germany to create a Proof of Concept (PoC) solution aimed at converting ByD SPC tickets into PDF archives. Subsequently, these PDF archives were exported into a Document Management System (DMS) deployed on the BTP platform.

SAP sought to alleviate the load on the ByD database caused by a substantial volume of SPC tickets. In response, we successfully developed PoC functionality to render tickets as PDFs and store them within the BTP DMS using REST calls exposed on the SAP API hub.
